We had a great time photographing Janelle and Kevin’s wedding last weekend, but I wanted to be sure that I put a few of their engagement photos up on the blog while I’m working on editing the wedding!!  Janelle and Kevin were looking for a place to do their engagement session near their homes, and Oliver Winery in Bloomington turned out to be a perfect location!!  When Janelle and I first met, she mentioned that she and Kevin didn’t really LOVE being photographed, and that as a result they didn’t have many pictures of the two of them together!  So, she wanted to make sure that we changed that!!  We had fun wandering the beautiful grounds at Oliver Winery, and came away with some fun photos of Janelle and Kevin together.

This first one is my favorite simply because of the sweet look they’re giving each other!!

Janelle and Kevin, thanks for being great to work with both for your engagement session and for your wedding!  Best wishes for a lifetime of happy years together!!

Danielle and Robert are such a fun couple.  Their wedding took place in Anderson, Indiana.  It was the first wedding that I did after coming back from maternity leave after Alex was born, so it was good to get back to shooting!!  It was also really great because my brother, Phil, of Sojourner Studios, came over from Columbus, Ohio to shoot with me, and we had so much fun!

I love this shot of Danielle heading in to see Robert for the first time on their big day!

Before the ceremony, I mentioned the cool stained glass windows, and how it would be neat to do a shot through them during the ceremony.  “You mean something like this?” Phil asked.  He had already gotten the perfect shot while Robert and Danielle were spending a few minutes together after seeing each other for the first time!!  (And since he’s my little brother, I won’t get mad at him for beating me to it!!)

We stopped at Shadyside Park in Anderson for a couple of quick photos on the way to the reception since it was only about 3 minutes away!

I love couples that laugh together!!

Meanwhile, as I was finishing up shots of Robert and Danielle, Phil got down on the ground at the bottom of a hill to get ready for these really cool shots of the whole wedding party.  Nice job, Phil!

The reception was at Anderson’s beautiful Paramount Theater.  Of course we couldn’t pass up a chance for some classic shots of Robert and Danielle with their names on the marquee!

This last one felt like the perfect way to end a great day!  Thanks for sharing it with us, Robert and Danielle!

I met up with Katie and Dustin recently to do their engagement session at Minnetrista Cultural Center here in Muncie.  We nearly got rained out, but we held off postponing in hopes that the evening would be rain-free!  So many times days that have been rainy can bring evenings that are simply amazing with soft light!  This was the case the day of our session, and though it was a rainy morning, the evening was perfect!!

After spending a little time at Minnetrista, we headed over to the nearby Delaware County Fairgrounds, where we found some really great places to shoot.

I love Katie’s laugh in the one below on the right!!

I’m so glad we made it over to this fabulous red barn because I think it makes a great backdrop!

Are they cute or what?!

Katie and Dustin, I had tons of fun during this session!  Shooting your wedding in December is going to be great!
