Johnna [Muncie, Indiana senior portrait photography]

I met Johnna last fall, when she came to help out during her best friend Libby’s senior portraits.  (Having a friend tag along for your session is a GREAT idea!  They know the little things that make you laugh the most, and can give you lots of encouragement that you’re looking fabulous!)  Johnna turned out to be a great reflector-holder, stuff-carrier, and all-around helpful person during Libby’s shoot, and we all had a great time.  Needless to say, I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to do Johnna’s pictures a couple of weeks ago!  And this time it was Libby who came along with us to help out, making it a fun little reunion!

Johnna wanted a more rural session, so we headed out into the country to see what we could find!  Here are some favorites from our session!  (I had a really hard time narrowing down the photos for the blog…I loved so many of them!!)  You’re beautiful, Johnna!!

We didn’t know what kind of field this was, but we loved the vibrant green color!  (Can anyone tell me what is growing here??)

We just happened to do this session when the daffodils were perfect!  (A few days later when I went past this same spot, they were no longer in bloom!!)  Lucky us!

Johnna, thanks for having me do your senior portraits!  Good luck in all that lies ahead after high school!!

Emily [Muncie, Indiana senior portrait photography]

Emily called me about doing her senior pictures after I did senior portraits for her friend, Libby.  It was already November, and we were hoping to be able to do most of her session outdoors (without freezing) but figured we would be in for a very cold session!!  Well, we could not have been more lucky!!  The weather on the day of Emily’s session was absolutely perfect, Emily looked beautiful, and we had so much fun going all around Muncie doing her photos.

We started out on a hunt for some fall leaves that still looked pretty…and we found them!!  I loved these shots of Emily in her prom dress out in all of the leaves!

The next shot is probably my favorite from the entire session…I love the sunlight on Emily’s hair, the colors in the background, and the fact that she is wearing her warm, bubbly smile!

For this shot, I was balancing on a stack of river rocks in order to get high enough to get Emily’s whole reflection in the water.  Emily’s mom was spotting me to keep me from falling!

Next, we headed downtown and shot until after sundown!!

Thanks, Emily, for giving me the opportunity to do your senior portraits!  I had so much fun getting to know you and your mom and loved working with you!!

Hannah [Albany, Indiana senior portrait photography]

I just had the chance to finish editing Hannah’s senior session, and I’m exited to share some of her photos!  Hannah is a senior at Wes-Del this year, and we headed over to Albany, Indiana to do her session.  We wanted to get some in town with brick walls and older buildings, and also wanted to head out in the the country for some along the river.  We ended up finding so many fun places to shoot!  Take a look at what we came up with!

I LOVE this hat.  Hannah said she just happened to find it (I think it was only a day or two before our session) and she thought it was fun so she brought it along.  I completely agree!!

Hannah plays guitar and we wanted to be sure to include it in a few shots!  I really like these next few.

We found the old wooden steps seen in the last few shots at the side of a building that also just happened to have a bathtub out front filled with dirt, plastic flowers, and some weeds.  What?  How could we not take at least a couple of pictures with something like that??!

Pretty!!

As we headed out of town, we stopped at an old bridge.  This is one of my favorites from the session.  I love the sunlight shining on Hannah’s hair in this one.

There was a field next to the bridge and Hannah was so great about getting right out in the middle of it to get this next shot.

0060_7150lsmb.jpg

Then I asked her to spin around so we could get some fun candid moments!!  Hannah probably thought I was crazy, but I love how this one of her laughing as she was spinning around turned out!!  :)

0059_7138lsmb.jpg

Lastly, we went down to the edge of the river for the last few shots!

0079_7234lsmb.jpg

Hannah, thank you so much for being willing to try all of my crazy ideas!!  I had so much fun during your session!  You were so great to work with!!  I hope you love your senior year!!

Libby [Muncie, Indiana senior portrait photography]

When Libby’s mom, Christy, contacted me, we didn’t realize that we knew each other!!  We finally figured out that we actually rode the same bus in middle school and high school.  What a small world!!  When we headed out to do Libby’s senior portraits, she brought her mom and her friend Johnna along (it is always fun to have extra support around for things like this!).  They were also a great help to me when I needed an extra set of hands to hold a reflector/umbrella/flash or other gear - thanks, girls!!  Anyway, we had so much fun shooting Libby’s senior portraits and here are some of my favorites!!

It was a VERY windy day, so we started off with a few indoor portraits…Before I go any further, let me say this:  Libby, you’re beautiful!!

I love this one by the window!

0009_5525lsmb.jpg

Next we headed out to do a few photos of Libby and her horse!!  He was a little nervous about all of the cross country runners that kept making their way past, but he did a great job!  :)

0022_5574lsmb.jpg

0031_5639lsmb.jpg

We took a few extra minutes by the White River to get these next photos.  One thing that was great about Libby was the way that she could go right from the perfect serious look (I’ve never been good at those, so I’m always amazed by people like Libby that pull it off so well!!) to laughing in a matter of moments!!  I love it!!

Lastly we headed downtown and we shot until the sun was completely gone!!  It was great!!  I loved the lightness of this painted brick wall just before sunset!

I was SOOOO excited to find this extra narrow alley!!  I have been looking for one like this and finally found one!!

Libby and Christy, thanks for giving me the opportunity to do these photos!  I have had a great time working with you!!  You are both great!!
