Indy Photog Shootout

Recently I got together with a bunch of photographers from Indianapolis and the surrounding areas for something called the Indy Photog Shootout.  We talked about lighting and strategies for working with difficult lighting situations.  It was great to meet up with so many creative people, make some new friends, and have a chance to share ideas.  John and Jennifer Moon of Northernlight Filmworks were there, and they created a great film short of the evening, which you can watch by clicking here: Indy Photog Shoot Out.  (If you pay attention, you’ll see me as well as a few of the images I took that night!)  They are really talented filmmakers so after you check out the Indy Photog Shootout video be sure to visit the Northernlight Filmworks blog.

Bridal Show Update

Thanks to all of you who came out to visit me at the Muncie Bridal Show!  There were about 600 people who attended, and it was great to talk to so many of you!  We had a great time!  I wanted to post a couple of photos from the show.

First, here are a couple of our booth…

I was so happy with the new canvas gallery wraps that we got just in time for the show!!  (These are the ones you see hanging on either side of the backdrop at the top.)  If you are looking for the perfect way to display your favorite wedding images, this is it!!  The image wraps around the sides of the canvas, and no frame is needed!

We also had several storyboards with standout mounts on display.  (The collage on the table in the foreground is a storyboard with a 1/2″ standout mount.  You can see the standout mount’s black edging on this storyboard.)  Storyboards allow you to combine several of your favorite images into one collage-type design.  And if you combine a storyboard with the standout mount, you have another ready-to-hang option that needs no frame!!

Below is a photo of one of our flushmount album samples.

I’ll also post a quick photo from the style show that took place during the afternoon.

Before I go, I need to thank a few people!  Thanks to my great husband, Rajeev, for helping me get everything together for the show and for getting the aluminum logo cut for me to hang on the backdrop - I love how it turned out!  Thanks to our friend, Sam, who constructed the backdrop for us!!  Thanks to my brother, Phil, and sister-in-law, Emily, for all of your help loading in and out and for hanging out with us all weekend!!

Lastly, thanks again to all of you for coming out to see us.  I hope that you enjoyed the show and were able to get lots of wedding planning ideas!  If there is anything I can do to help, let me know!!

Mini Portrait Sessions

I really enjoyed working with everyone who participated in the recent mini portrait sessions! If you are interested in participating in a future mini session, let me know and I’ll be sure to contact you with information when more details become available! Hopefully, we’ll be able to set up at least one day each for outdoor summer and outdoor fall mini sessions. I’d also love to do a dress-up mini session day, perfect for capturing how adorable your princesses, super heroes and other little characters look all dressed up in their favorite costumes!!

I’ll be adding more pictures from the mini sessions, but here are a few to get started.

Ben and his little brother Sam were full of energy and lots of fun! Plus, could they be any cuter? I don’t think so!!
